Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley. The funeral home would like to invite everyone who knew and loved Joe to a memorial gathering Friday, Feb. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place at Downs Cemetery in the spring. The family would like to give a special thanks to their friend and neighbor, Marvin Dirske for all his help. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Bill Myers and Ted Hansen and a sister, Linda Geisinger. Joe is survived by his wife, Pat children, Angie Loff, of Auburn, Indiana, Joe Kulawaik, of Auburn, Indiana and Randy (Naomi) Dillingham, of Kingsley brothers, Ted Hansen and Carl (Gloria) Hansen, both of Auburn, Indiana sisters, Sherry (Ron) White, of Otter Lake, Helen Smith and Lauren Hansen, both of Auburn, Indiana seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren “My two b******”, Jamie Schichtel and Shannon McIntyre, who were like sons to Joe. Joe served as a union president for several years and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom picking. After retirement, he and Pat moved back to Buckley where Joe worked for the Buckley Schools as a janitor. Joe worked for General Motors in Flint for 32 years. Joe married Patricia Anne Denton on July 31, 1989. Joe graduated from Buckley High School and attended Marquette University. Hansen was an active campaigner for equal rights. Brandstetter was a pioneering character: a tough private eye and happily uncloseted gay man. 11, 1947, in Buckley, to Theodore and Jacquelin (Stein)) Hansen. Joseph Hansen wrote nearly forty novels in the course of a long career, but is best known for the groundbreaking series of twelve Dave Brandstetter crime novels.
